About
If you've been helping out at the Boys and Girls Club this semester, you can help the kids there adjust to the new way of connecting online. Record a short video greeting (15-30 seconds) that can be shared with the children via the Club's newly created YouTube Channel.
Instructions:
-- Think about what you want to say. This might include:
------- Telling the kids how much you miss them.
------- Encouraging them in their schoolwork - they are adjusting to online classes too!
------- Encouraging them to help out at home by doing their chores, being kind to their siblings, etc.
------- Giving them a challenge or goal for the day, week, etc.
------- Sharing about what you are up to - Are you back home? Where is home? (You could point it out on a map) What are you doing to stay in shape, eat healthy, stay entertained, etc., during these days of staying at home?
-- Set up your recording station. Make sure your background is one that sets a good example for the kids.
-- Record your video! Make sure to use an animated voice and facial expressions to engage the children.
-- Submit the recording to the Boys and Girls Club via Dropbox. (Record and submit the video by Wednesday, 4/22/2020, if possible)
**When you register, a section called "Conferencing Link" will appear below with the link to upload to Dropbox.**
Guidelines:
- All content must be age-appropriate. Most of the kids are 5 to 10 years old.
- Set a good example in what you say, what you wear, and what is visible in the background of your video.
- If possible, wear a Benedictine shirt or other Raven gear. This will help the kids realize that this video was made specifically for their Boys and Girls Club in Atchison.
