Nature and Purpose of Agency:

Every child deserves a childhood, and considering what our children overcome each and every day, they deserve a truly exceptional one. With the support of generous donors, we are able to go above and beyond for our kids, and provide the joys of childhood in a home-like environment. Exceptional Care is a haven for healing fragile bodies when improvement is possible, and a refuge for nurturing vulnerable spirits when a cure is unattainable.

Method of scheduling this service opportunity:

Sign up on GivePulse and reach out to site supervisor if interested in organizing the “Wish list” donation drive. If interested in the other opportunities (Read Alouds, “How to” videos, Sharing musical talent), you may complete the service after GivePulse registration and submit an impact with a photo, scan, or attached video for proof of completion of hours.

Method of impact submission:

No virtual timesheet needed; instead, submit your impact with proof of your service project attached. This means a screenshot of your email with the video attached if you chose to do a read aloud or other video. Each read aloud video is worth 2 AS-L service hours, and the How-To Tutorials and Virtual Recitals/music videos are worth 3 hours.

Description of Virtual Service Opportunities:

  • Creating “How To” Videos – want to teach the kids how to create a simple piece of artwork, make slime, defeat a part of a video game suitable for children, or anything else? Consider creating a “How To” video for our kiddos. All videos can be submitted to eholcombe@exceptionalcare.org These videos are then uploaded to our internal network, for kiddos to as a group in Play Therapy, or independently in their bedrooms. (3 hours)
