Tasks Available for StudentsHomework Help: Provide homework assistance to members Age 7 – 13, who are divided into small groups and are given one-hour blocks to work on their homework assignments. Engage and motivate members during homework help. (There is no hw help on Fridays; volunteers who sign up for Fridays will be shadowing group leaders and assisting in our youth programs).

Game Rooms/ Mentoring: Members are divided into three different recreation/game rooms based on their age (6-9 years old, 10 to 12 years old and 13+) where they have time to participate in recreation activities including arts and athletics.

 

Time Requirements          

Students can serve Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 6:45 pm.

 

Student Awareness/Special Instructions

NOTES:

  • Please specify the age group that you would like to work with when you email the site supervisor.
  • Volunteers need to bring their St. John's ID or NYS ID, and their ASL log sheet.
  • If students are more than 30 minutes late, they will need to reschedule via givepulse/AS-L for a different day.

Take the Q46 heading westbound to 164th Street. Transfer to the Q65L bus heading towards College Point. Exit at 41st Avenue. Walk down Main Street towards 41st Avenue. Turn right on 41st Road. 

Driving Directions

Take Union Turnpike west and make a right on Main Street. Make a left on Sanford Street. Make the first right on Frame Place. Turn right on 41st Road.
